Traffic stop leads to 2 arrests

A routine traffic stop turned up two arrests on drug charges when it was discovered that two of the three occupants of the car had warrants for their arrest. The traffic stop happened Monday in the 1000 block of Beaver St.

Police identified all three of the occupants of the car, and discovered that there had been arrest warrants issued for two of them. John Haustin Simmons was arrested for a parole violation warrant, and Brittany Taylor was arrested for a motion-to-revoke warrant on a prior drug charge.

A search yielded a glass pipe with meth residue, a small plastic baggie containing suspected methamphetamine, and a “dugout” containing empty plastic baggies and a marijuana pipe. Simmons was additionally charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance-drug free zone, and Taylor was charged with possession of a controlled substance-drug free zone.
