Early City Council to approve budget, tax rate, public works projects

The Early City Council will take up a lengthy agenda Tuesday which will include approving the tax rate, budget and sanitation rates for the upcoming fiscal year. The city council has proposed a 1.2 cent property tax reduction in light of increases to properties on the tax rolls, as well as solid sales tax collections.

The council will also consider appointments to the planning and zoning commission and the municipal development district.

With Early High School Homecoming coming up, the council will consider closing streets for the homecoming parade, and approving a variance for the homecoming bonfire.

The council will then go into executive session to deliberate on the sale of city owned real estate.

The Early City Council meets Tuesday at 6 pm at Early City Hall.
