Brownwood ISD Rolls Out New Comprehensive Alert and Messaging System for Parents, Teachers, and Students

Brownwood ISD is announcing the rollout of SchoolMessenger, a trusted platform utilized by districts across the country for school alerts, parent notifications, classroom messaging and community engagement. Brownwood ISD has previously used Remind.com among other online tools for school alerts, teacher-parent communications, and emergency notifications. SchoolMessenger will take the place of those services and unify communications into a single, secure, trusted and proven platform.

SchoolMessenger integrates with the contact information parents have already provided during registration. To ensure communications are setup properly, parents are encouraged to:

  • Visit www.brownwoodisd.org/schoolmessenger to get started.
  • Use the same email address that you used for registration (Parent Portal/TXEIS) when creating an account.
  • Make sure your phone number and email address information are correct by either calling in to the school office or logging in to your Parent Portal.
  • On Monday, October 2, you should receive the following text from 67587 requesting you to opt-in to continue receiving important informational text messages from your child’s school:

“Brownwood ISD messages. Reply Y to confirm, HELP 4 info. Msg&data rates may apply. Msg freq varies. schoolmessenger.com/tm”

You must reply “Y” if you wish to receive future SMS text alerts from Brownwood ISD. You may opt-out at any time by visiting www.brownwoodisd.org/schoolmessenger.
