Abandoned car investigation leads to arrests

Two men were jailed after a Sheriff’s deputy located drugs and stolen precious metals while investigating an abandoned car. The Brownwood Bulletin reports that the deputy was dispatched to Hwy 377 South near Pitts Lane to investigate the vehicle.

He opened the door to search for contact info, finding the suspect’s phone number and shards of methamphetamine.

Deputies contacted the suspects, who were in a nearby creek. 30 year old Cory Walker of Weatherford and 30 year old Jason Goains of Comanche were arrested for criminal mischief, theft of precious metals, burglary of a building, possession of a controlled substance and criminal trespass.
